High Point Market – Part 1

High Point Market 2019 did not let us down! It brought some great options to our playing deck that we can use ASAP. To start this awesome series recapping our visit, I want to talk about two very special vendors: Lauren Leiss for Woodbridge Furniture and Taylor King Upholstery and Generations Lighting.

high point market 2019First is a casual and durable line from Woodbridge Furniture designed by Lauren Leiss [whom we were able to meet and talk to, she was such a delight] that had a spectacular scale with just enough detail.  The word Sundance kept streaming through my head due to its texture and color, and there were pieces that had just enough detail to make my heart sing. I felt these pieces could be great for family rooms and kid’s common rooms, which is perfect timing as we are seeing more requests for designs in these rooms.

I have had a girl crush on Alexa Hampton from day ONE. Her personality is grand and approachable, and she is a BLAST!  She’s someone who has a vast knowledge of design but also can spout off her nail color [which she did for me] because we all know that is important also.  She’s a package deal! Kirsten and I happened to be near the bar area [very foreign area for me I know] at the new Visual Comfort showroom at 5:00 pm sharp where Alexa was signing her new book.

Someone asked if we wanted her latest book and if we would like to have it signed. We, of course, said we would be happy to accept! So, we met Alexa had a quick picture and went on our merry way to pick up our pinot grigio.  It was a great end to a long day at market. This lighting will be such n awesome addition to the homes we design and are available in great finishes with wonderful craftsmanship. Look for these in future installation shots!

Next up will be 2 more blog-worthy moments from High Point Market 2019. Don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter so you never miss industry updates from RKID!
