Shining a Light on Light Fixture Selections

Many considerations go into the selection of light fixtures for a space. How much natural lighting is available, how big [or small] is the area that requires light, what other finishes are used in the room that may need to be matched or complimented, and so forth. We had such a wonderful time working with the homeowners of this Shingle Style Lodge home to create a cohesive and captivating lighting experience! In this first of two blog posts, we will highlight the main living spaces – the dining room, kitchen, and great room.

The Dining Room

An all-time favorite of mine, [you might hear this a lot in this post!] the infamous Halo from Barbara Barry placed over the table. Dramatic yet simple. Transitional and can use as one pendant or multiples.

The details in the Reverie double sconces by Kelly Wearstler flanking the built-in cabinetry are breathtaking. Bold but elegant.

Elegant dining room with white chairs, wooden table, gold pendant light. Green plants and fruits adorn the table, large window view.

In the Kitchen

A unique shape with fabulous light output. The finish on these pendant lights is smashing, just like the design!

Modern kitchen with a large island, six stools, gold pendant lights, and dark cabinetry. Bright, clean, and organized with plants and fruit.

The Great Room

This grandeur fixture feels rustic yet has little jackets that accept each candelabra, which gives it a bit of formality. This finish is amazing and the texture on this Chapman & Myers piece is able to be seen from standing anywhere in the room.

The Edie Baluster sconces in this space were needed to be robust enough to warrant the soaring ceiling.  I believe they fit this space perfectly.

Spacious living room with brown leather sofa, blue armchairs, and dark coffee table. Open kitchen with bar stools. Warm, cozy ambiance.

Each of these lighting beauties amplify the beauty of this home! They are like the icing on the cake!
