Sam’s Role
In her role at RKID, Sam is at the forefront of strategizing and implementing all brand operations and messaging. She handles marketing, communication, and PR strategies, working to enhance design firm brand awareness across multiple platforms. Combining her analytical skills with her passion for design, Sam is the go-to person for all client-related activities!
The Magic of the Design Process
At RKID, Sam is the brains behind the marketing elements that face potential clients, builders, vendors, and architects. She sets up client meetings and ensures that when we have builders and architects we are prepared and ready. This helps us dive into design effectively and wholeheartedly!
For Sam, the best part of serving the design team is seeing a vision come to life. She believes that a well-designed environment can have a profound impact on our well-being. Because of this, she loves supporting designers as they tailor spaces to fit clients’ unique lifestyles.
Whether it’s creating a cozy reading nook, designing a spacious kitchen for family baking sessions, or incorporating large windows to bring in natural light and a sense of the outdoors, Sam knows that thoughtful design changes any space!
A Taste for Eclectic and Spanish Colonial Styles
If she had to pick, Sam’s favorite design style is a mix of eclectic and Spanish colonial. She loves the uniqueness and warmth they bring to a space. She prefers design options with earth-toned color palettes and an unexpected combination of patterns and textures to create a homey, welcoming atmosphere.
Design Inspiration from Around the World
Sam’s love for travel (she’s been to Italy, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Kenya, and Costa Rica- to name a few!) naturally inspires her design decisions. The diverse styles and beauty she encounters across the globe keep her mind open to fresh ideas and inform her signature style when she’s back in Minnesota!
Life Beyond Design
Outside of work, Sam loves anything that keeps her connected to nature and her loved ones. You can find her spending time outdoors whenever she can. She loves walking by a body of water, playing pickleball, or simply relaxing by the lake. During the Minnesota winters though, Sam has a few indoor activities to keep her busy. These include reading, painting, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and dogs!

Get to Know Sam, One of Our Minneapolis Interior Designers
If Sam were a beverage, she would be mint tea! Not only is it her favorite drink (she has at least two cups a day), but it also perfectly encapsulates her refreshing and calming presence. Like mint tea, which can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, she finds joy in diverse situations and conversations.
Given the chance, Sam would love to swap places with someone from a very different demographic to experience life from a new perspective. This curiosity about the world and empathy for others drives her both personally and professionally, making her a valuable member of our design scene!
